Many are silently struggling with life issues, and don’t know where to turn. We also know many who are experiencing difficulties and we don’t know how to assist and help make things better. As a Catholic Community we are on our life journeys together and need to recognize that there are people available so no one goes through these challenges alone.
In 2010 we began training to become a Stephen Ministry Parish. We have a wonderful team of people who have received over 50 hours of caregiving training to walk with people experiencing a crisis, facing a change or simply going through a rough time.
We all encounter difficulties in life, it is part of our human condition: loss of a loved one, spiritual crisis, cancer, hospitalization, disability, discouragement, divorce, rehabilitation, job loss, loneliness; so very many challenges. You may be experiencing any one of these life challenges, or may know of someone who is and our Stephen Ministers are here to meet with you privately and confidentially on a weekly basis to listen, care, encourage, support and remind you of Christ’s presence in our life and the support of our Christian community.
If you or someone you know could benefit from the care of a Stephen Minister, or if you are interested in becoming a Stephen Minister, or have questions about this very important and valuable ministry please call me on my cell phone at (508) 981-4611; or our Stephen Leaders: Jean Bonetti (508) 779-7661, Ken Konicki (508)826-6096.
As we continue to look at Acts of the Apostles this Easter Season, we know how important it is to look at ourselves and each other through the caring eyes of Christ the Good Shepherd and make every effort to bring the grace and mercy of Christ into our own lives and the lives of those we love. That in the end is what really matters,
