Dear Fellow Parishioners, Into the Wilderness-Creating a space for solitude where you listen to God speak! How is it going? Some have mentioned that they are giving God their commute time, shutting off the radio and spending the commute time listening. One person mentioned that they are realizing how much better the drive is without listening to the news. Of course, giving God a chance to speak is Good News! Others have said my solitude time is morning! If I don’t get it in then, it doesn’t happen. Taking the time before bed to reflect on the day is beneficial too and remembering your moment closest to Christ creates a habit of looking for Christ throughout our waking hours. Remember, we must “create” solitude. It does not just happen! I wish to thank everyone for their generosity to the Annual Partners in Charity Appeal. As I am writing this, we have surpassed our goal by $130.00! Total pledged: $43,330.00. Thank you all for your help. Next, we will be moving on to the diocesan Legacy of Hope Capital Campaign. I know it is a lot to ask but we are in this together. We have a wonderful Legacy of Hope team who will be conducting our parish drive.
On a personal note, my sister-in-law Jane has recovered from Covid-19. Because of the COVID-19 cases in their family we want everyone to be safe, so we scheduled a graveside service with military honors for Thursday February 25th. When everyone is well, and we can gather we will have a Memorial Mass at St. Louis Parish in Webster. I wish to thank all of you for your expressions of sympathy and support for me and my family at the time of our loss.
