Dear Fellow Parishioners, We have been experiencing drought all summer long and waiting for the rains to come to see if the flat roof over the sacristy and the day chapel are sealed tight. The rains of Labor Day brought some good news and some bad news. The good news is that we are ready to install the new ceiling in the sacristy. The drain work that was done and the roof work have corrected situations that have occurred since the church was constructed. The not so bad news is that we can clearly see that the drain coming from the roof over the chapel needs to be replaced, just as we did over the sacristy. It is a large project and involves removing cast-iron piping and replacing it with PVC. As all of you who are homeowners know, repairs are never-ending. We have three large buildings with lots of plumbing, wiring, heating, and air conditioning units. It is a lot of work to keep on top of everything. How fortunate we are to have the expertise of Bill Parent and Kevin Maldarelli to oversee the volunteers and the professional assistance to keep things up and running. As we approach our Annual Stewardship Renewal in October, I am asking all to seriously consider your gifts of time, talent and treasure to our community and help us meet the fiscal, physical and ministry needs of our faith community. Covid-19 has certainly placed many obstacles and challenges to all parish communities, and organizations. May we recognize how important we are to each other and work together to keep our parish vital. Fr. Bill
