Dear Fellow Parishioners, We are now officially in Passiontide, which is what we call the last two weeks of Lent. We move from focusing of the death/resurrection of Jesus to the Passion of Jesus. The Second week of Passiontide begins with Palm Sunday, and we call that week Holy Week. During these two weeks take extra time to focus on the ways you have been enlightened during this Lenten Season by listening and being guided by the Holy Spirit. My focus in on the three questions that were presented through the Gospel of John presented these last three weeks. • For what do you thirst? • To what are you blind? • To what are you dead? (this week’s Gospel, think what it means to be alive) The answer to any one of these is part of our spiritual growth. Remember the nails we carry are a reminder of what we need to repair in our spiritual lives. I am asking you to write down on a slip of paper any answers you received during your personal Lenten journey. Then bring your slip with you to church on Good Friday along with you nail to attach them to the cross we will use for Adoration of the Cross at our 7:30 P.M. Good Friday Service. All these slips will be offered up to God in the Easter Fire at the Easter Vigil at 7:30 P.M. Holy Saturday. The Holy Week schedule is in this bulletin. The Triduum services are all at 7:30 P.M. as is the Tenebrae Service on Tuesday evening, with an opportunity for Reconciliation (confession) using the Passion as an examination of conscience. On Good Friday there is no school, so we invite families with children and anyone else to join us for Walk-The-Walk, gathering at 10:00 A.M. as we journey together through town reflecting on the Passion of Jesus. This is followed by a simple lunch in the parish Hall. Stations of the Cross will be held in the church at 3:00 P.M. If anyone cares to join me at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Worcester for the Chrism Mass at 10:30 on Tuesday, April 4th followed by lunch, please let me know so I can add you to the lunch count. This year along with Bishop McManus and Msgr. Steve Pedone, I will be celebrating my 45th Anniversary of Ordination. Steve and I were ordained together at the Cathedral on June 3, 1978. Seems like yesterday! May we enter this sacred Passiontide together as a community of faith. Fr. Bill
