There are so many things happening here at Sacred Heart, that sometimes one thing or another fall through the cracks, or we think they are so far off that we will take care of it later. I do want to bring to your attention the Parish Pilgrimage to Austria and Germany featuring the Passion Play of Oberammergau which is only held every 10 years. I have 16 spots put aside for us and 11 of them are spoken for. I can add more spaces if necessary. I need to know by the end of February the exact number of people from Sacred Heart that will be going. If we have open spots I need to offer these spots to people from outside the parish.
I would like this to be a journey just for us and a wonderful experience not only of travel but also of prayer and reflection on the sights and the people we meet along the way. Enclosed in this week’s bulletin is a flyer that shows the complete itinerary for our journey. It looks exciting and a wonderful opportunity to learn, pray and bond as a community of fellow travelers. So, take a look at the enclosed flyer, and if you are interested let me know and fill out the enclosed reservation form. If you are traveling alone, we are arranging for roommates to help save the fee for single rooms if you so desire. It would be nice if everyone could come, but I realize that it is out of the financial reach of many, that is why booking early helps to spread payments over more than a year before we travel. May of 2020 seems a long way off, but it will be here before we know it.
On another note, there were many articles left in the church over the weekend: umbrellas, gloves, glasses, hats and more. Our lost and found is located in the vestibule of the church near the Information booth. If you do find something please bring it there; and if you lost something, please take a look through the items that are in the basket.
The next three weeks before Lent our Homily series is entitled “Say What?” Stay tuned!
