Dear Fellow Parishioners, As we gather for worship this Memorial Day weekend new Covid protocols go into effect. I have been listening to the concerns of those who are attending regularly since last May and want to make sure everyone feels comfortable as we gather. SO: We are going to ease into the new guidelines. Here are the guidelines: As of May 29, 2021, vaccinated people are no longer required to wear masks or socially distance in our parishes.
·The State does advise that non-vaccinated people continue to wear masks. ·It is understood that different people will be ready to take off their masks and sit near one another at different times. ·When a parish becomes aware that a COVID positive person has attended Mass, there should be general announcement at least on the parish’s website. Parishioners should be advised to keep an eye on the website, as that will be where such an announcement will be made. Here is what we are going to do here in The Catholic Community of Sacred Heart: As of May 29, 2021
·The St. Joseph side of the church (left facing the altar) will continue to be marked for social distancing as we have this past year. ·All pews will be available for seating on the Blessed Mother side of the church (right facing the altar) ·Everyone will come forward for communion. Deacon Tom, Eucharistic Ministers and I will be wearing our masks for communion. Hand sanitizer will be available for anyone wishing to use it. Feel free to bring your own if you wish. ·Those needing Gluten Free hosts will come up before others as we have been doing this past year. We will continue to evaluate the need/desire for social distancing and make adjustments as we continue in the weeks and months ahead. As always, if you have concerns or suggestions, please let us know. We are doing our best to keep everyone healthy, safe, and most challenging SANE as we navigate the new protocols. Remember, we are on this journey together. I wish to thank everyone of you for your cooperation during these months together. We have worked together to keep everyone safe! May we continue to do so.
