Dear Fellow Parishioners, Several people commented on how wonderful it was to get together in the hall after the Masses my birthday weekend. It was good to have an opportunity to enjoy each other’s company and share how things are going. Someone even recommended that we celebrate my birthday every week, so we can get together! That is not going to happen. I am aging one year at a time, just like everyone else. Yes, how truly wonderful it is to gather and have a chance to connect with others. That Is what makes us the community that we are. Others stated that they missed the dinners, the Christmas fair and coffee and. Let’s start thinking about having all those gathered events again. We often don’t realize what we had until something like a pandemic comes our way. Then, we realize how important we are to one another and want to turn back the hands of time. We can’t turn back the clock, but we can look forward. So, I am looking for any ideas of what you would like to do to build up The Catholic Community of Sacred Heart. Before the end of the season, I want to get to Tanglewood. There are performances on Sunday afternoons at 2:30 P.M. My favorite is the season finale, on August 28th - Beethoven’s intensely expressive, innovative, but ultimately uplifting Symphony No. 9. Following three questing instrumental movements, the finale is a setting for soloists and chorus of the German playwright and poet Friedrich Schiller’s “Ode to Joy.” So, anyone interested in going to Tanglewood? We can attend the 9:30 Mass and then leave for Tanglewood. Lawn space is always available at $20.00 per person. Bring chairs and a picnic lunch. We can carpool and enjoy the time together as we share food and drink with each other. This is just one suggestion for a summer activity. Any others out there? Let Tina know and we can get started. We don’t know what the pandemic plan is for the fall, but we do know it is safe to gather now, so let’s do it.
