Dear Fellow Parishioners, I wish to thank all those who accepted the invitation to attend a Legacy of Hope Capital Campaign meeting these past few weeks. I also wish to thank the members of our Legacy Team for working so well together to assist in getting everything prepared for the campaign. Many of you may have questions regarding the Campaign as we begin to present to the larger parish. If you have questions feel free to talk to any members of the committee, listed in the bulletin, or of course speak with me or Tina Buckley and Pam Chaplin in the office.
The Legacy of Hope Capital Campaign is our opportunity to support our church as a whole. No parish is an island, and no parish can exist apart from the Diocese. I would not be assigned here as your pastor if our bishop didn’t assign me or Deacon Tom to serve here. We need the diocese to exist as a parish and the diocese needs us in order to exist.
Over the next few weeks, we will communicate to the whole parish the components of Legacy of Hope Capital Campaign as it impacts the future of the diocese and what our 40% of the pledges will be earmarked for our parish.
I am asking everyone who has already received their information packet to prayerfully consider their pledge and make their commitment to assist us in reaching our target of $345,199.00 of which our parish share will be $138,080.00 when we reach our target. To date we have $79,930.00 in pledges from 27 pledges.
On another note, I will be on retreat beginning Sunday afternoon May 16 through Friday May 21st. This is the annual Priest’s retreat for our Diocese. Due to covid-19 we didn’t have a retreat last year. As usual, we will gather at Mirimar Retreat Center in Duxbury; Fr. Brett Brannen is our retreat director. I ask your prayers for those of us who will be on gathering this week.
