In the name of the Father,
and of the Son (+),
and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
PENITENTIAL ACT
Brothers and sisters,
let us acknowledge our sins.
A brief pause for silence follows. Then all recite together the formula of general confession:
I confess to almighty God
and to you, my brothers and sisters,
that I have greatly sinned,
in my thoughts and in my words,
in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,
through my fault, through my fault,
through my most grievous fault;
therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,
all the Angels and Saints,
and you, my brothers and sisters,
to pray for me to the Lord our God.
OPENING PRAYER
Let us pray.
Grant us, Lord, we pray,
that, being rightly conformed to the paschal mysteries,
what we celebrate in joy
may protect and save us with perpetual power.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever. Amen.

PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL
For our Holy Father, our bishops and priests, that they continue to be a sign of Christ’s presence in our midst.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.
For vocations, that the One who knows the secrets of hearts may continue to choose apostles as He chose Matthias, to continue the mission of evangelization.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.
For all those in government leadership and those who have been tasked with designing and implementing plans for the general welfare, that their efforts will bear much fruit.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.
For all who are sorrowing: the sick, the bereaved, those in economic hardship and the homeless, that our prayer may bring them a share in the Lord’s joy.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.
For all those who have died, especially those we hold dear and those who died in service to others, that the risen Christ will release their bonds and bring them safely home.
We pray to the Lord.
Lord, hear our prayer.
LORD’S PRAYER
At the Savior’s command
and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say:
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come,
thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
CLOSING PRAYER
Let us pray.
We have partaken of the gifts of this sacred mystery,
humbly imploring, O Lord,
that what your Son commanded us to do
in memory of him
may bring us growth in charity.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
DIOCESAN PRAYER IN TIME OF PANDEMIC
O God,
whose Only Begotten Son
bore the weight of human suffering for our salvation,
hear the prayers of your Church
for our sick brothers and sisters
and deliver us from this time of trial.
Open our ears and our hearts to the voice of your Son:
Be not afraid, for I am with you always.
Bless all doctors and nurses, researchers and public servants;
give us the wisdom to do what is right
and the faith to endure this hour,
that we might gather once again to praise your name
in the heart of your Church,
delivered from all distress and confident in your mercy.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen
BLESSING
May Almighty God bless us,
the Father (+),
and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
