Now that faith formation is in full swing, I want to invite the adults in the community who have not completed their sacraments of initiation; those who have been baptized as Catholics, to consider completing their journey of faith here at Sacred Heart. I also want to invite those who are married in a civil service to consider getting their marriage blessed.
Life happens and sometimes and our parents brought us forward for baptism, but we did not make our First Communion, and/or our Confirmation. If that is your story and you feel ready to receive either or both these Sacraments here at Sacred heart at our Easter Vigil, April 20, 2019 please let me know and we will be happy to assist you in completing your sacraments of initiation as a Roman Catholic. Everyone’s schedule is hectic, and we are flexible with preparation for both sacraments.
Also, many Catholics were married in civil services and never received the Sacrament of Matrimony. If you or your spouse are baptized Catholics and would like to have your marriage blessed, please let me know and I will be happy to meet with you both. We can arrange a time convenient for you and your family to join in celebrating this wonderful sacrament in inviting God’s blessings in your family life.
We are a Sacramental church and seeking the grace of the sacraments not only empowers individuals, but our whole community as we support each other through the challenges of life. Let the grace and blessings of the sacraments flow into your life, family, and our community.
Fr. Bill
PS...I would like to thank Joe Edwards of Edwards Memorial Funeral home for donating the oriental rug in the sanctuary behind the altar. Also, thank you to Dave Consigli of Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home for donating the rug in the sacristy. Both look great!
