Dear Parish Family: This certainly is an interesting time! The coronavirus pandemic has forced us into new ways of doing pretty much everything, faith formation included. As we plan for the upcoming Faith Formation year, we are well aware of the great stress families are under trying to adapt to the new models of schooling. We are excited to announce that we have developed a model of faith formation that will meet the needs of all families while keeping health and safety precautions at the forefront.
So that all families will be settled into their new routine, we are delaying the start of Faith Formation until Sunday, October 18th. There will be virtual parent meetings during the week of October 12th for an overview of the program and to answer any questions that you might have.
Here is what we are planning: ¨Families will be asked to form small family groups (no greater than 10 people) to journey with during the upcoming year and possibly into next year. Are there families that you see on a regular basis? ¨So that we are all worshiping together, all lessons will center on Sunday Mass/readings. The lesson format will rotate throughout the month. We are hoping that once a month your group can attend mass in person and participate in a brief lesson after mass in your group. The lessons on the other weeks will include videos and questions, projects, and a week where we all come together virtually as a faith formation community. ¨The key to our program is it will be flexible to work with whatever is happening in the community around us with Covid but keep our community, families and children moving forward in their faith journey in a fun, engaging way. At this time, we are asking families to: ¨Register for Faith Formation classes, grades K-8, on the parish website or call the parish office. ¨Register for Flocknotes, as this will be our mode of communication. ¨Register for a small family group. You may register for a small family group on the parish website.
Pam Chaplin P.S. Great news to share! Tara Corcoran has re-joined our team in a limited capacity. We are SO happy that Tara is back!!!!
