Dear Fellow Parishioners, Where did the summer go? And of course, we say that every Labor Day weekend, especially when we need to get back into the swing of the fall schedule. Karen Daige and Pam Chaplin worked throughout the summer months putting together a Faith Formation program that is a fine blend of gathered and individual programing that is family oriented keeping in mind that faith is “caught” and not taught. The program also focuses on people of all ages and not just the young people of our parish or those in Sacramental preparation. We all need to remember that Faith is a life-long commitment, and we need to nurture and grow our faith through all the various stages of our relationship with God and our community. Our Faith Formation offerings have many moving parts and we need everyone to help make it all happen. So, as the expression goes, “many hands make light work.” We are asking everyone to assist in taking part of the offerings to make it happen. Do you have any skills you can offer? Please let Pam know or sign up using Link. At the same time, the Yard Sale is happening on September 10th. Again, we are looking for help next week and the day of the yard sale. Please contact the office to assist in this major fund-raising event. Also, go through your “stuff” and consider donating what you don’t need. On another note, it is wonderful to see the Family Room being used. Remember, it is “just us.” So, feel free when you need bathroom facilities to walk across the front of the church to get to the closest bathroom, rather than walking all the way to the back of the church. Of course, on my wish list, when we have the funds, is to install a bathroom on family room side of the church so you can restore your personal comfort without a distant walk.
Summer doesn’t official end until September 22nd, but when school starts, we all roll up our sleeves and get back into the swing of things. Please step forward and assist in the work of our community of faith by sharing your time and talent through the work of your hands. Fr. Bill
