Dear Fellow Parishioners, What a washout these past few months have been for most of New England. However, I would rather the rain, than, drought, forest fires, tornadoes and hurricanes. Where has the summer gone? I guess we say that every year at this time, especially when we had to go back to school. Next weekend is Labor Day weekend and summer comes to an end, vacations are over, schools prepare to open, and we prepare for our usual Fall activities. Or are we?
We face many unknowns as we enter this month of September. Looking at the Mass attendance numbers, there is no need of adding a weekend Mass, so we will continue with our Summer schedule: 4:00 P.M. Saturday and 9:30 A.M. Sunday until further notice. With the Delta Variant of Covid-19 we also face many unknowns. When warranted we will reinstitute further safety precautions. I am seeing many more people masking on the weekend and in stores and restaurants. Better to be safe.
We will continue to live-stream the 9:30 Mass and invite all those watching to come for communion following the live-stream. Those watching in assisted living, and the homebound will receive communion from Ministers of Care. Any homebound who wish to receive communion on the weekend, please call the office and we will make arrangements for a weekly visit.
We are looking for additional people to make “wellness calls” to members of our community. You would be assigned 10 parishioners to check on once per month to make sure everything is ok, and to report any need of assistance. If you are willing to help, please call the office and we will get you started.
Summer is quickly coming to an end, and we prepare for another pandemic Fall. Let’s us look after each other as a community of faith.
