During the past year, many have been preparing for the Sacraments of Confirmation, First Eucharist and full entry into our Catholic Faith through RCIA. Bishop McManus has given all pastors faculties (permission) to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation-with precautions during the month of June. Following the State guidelines regarding maximum capacity and social distancing, we will begin to celebrate the sacraments and administer Confirmation to six confirmandi at each of three Masses; June 20 at 4:00 P.M. June 27 at 4:00 P.M. and Sunday June 28th at 9:30 A.M. RCIA candidates will be included in the last Confirmation group.
The Summer Schedule will begin on June 28th. We delayed implementing the summer schedule until all the precautions and procedures were put into place. First Communions will be scheduled in July. We want to learn lessons from the Confirmation liturgies-with precautions, so that First Communions will run smoothly.
All Sacraments will be administered with masks, mine and the candidates. In another section of the bulletin the procedures for these precautions will be listed. We will not be able to take pictures under these circumstances. Also, I ask parishioners attending these Masses to be patient and allow the ushers to seat everyone as there will be assigned seating for those receiving sacraments and their families.
We are working hard to make sure that everyone who enters our church is safe and healthy when they enter, and when they leave. We are all learning the best procedures as we move through this. Please be patient and all will be well.
