Dear Fellow Parishioners, Many have commented on how happy they are to see young families at both the 4:00 P.M. and 9:30 A.M. weekend Masses. We have expanded our Faith Formation offerings to assist and accommodate families with such busy schedules. As we move ahead this year, if you have any suggestions to not hesitate to let us know. We are trying to be welcoming to all. When we gather, I want us all to feel comfortable in our campus facilities. We are a parish family and as family we need to feel comfortable in each other’s presence. When you are using the family room and need to restore your personal comfort feel free to walk to walk in front of the altar to the nearest bathroom. If you are sitting in the main body of the church and need to exit to the family room, just go there. I have seen some exit the rear of the church and walk outside. Please, just do what you need to do for your comfort. I am inviting all young families to sit right up front. When children can see what is happening at Mass, they pay more attention than with the many distractions in the rear of the church. We are also going put baskets of crayons and coloring sheets on some of the windowsills for children to use if they would like during Mass. Kids Chapel is available for children three years old through first grade. So, if I confused anyone by saying kindergarten and first grade, please know that if your three-year-old is comfortable with other children and they want to learn about their faith, send them along. Rachel Largey signs the 9:30 Sunday Mass for the deaf community. The Alleluia in sign language is extremely easy to learn, so I am encouraging the whole community to sign along with the Alleluia as a sign of solidarity with the deaf community. Also, the sign for peace is simple too; I will have Rachel teach us all. From time-to-time Rachel offers American Sign Language Classes. If you are interested let us know in the office and we can arrange another offering. We are all in this together, and I am hoping that we all feel comfortable as we gather for prayer and worship. If in any way you feel uncomfortable, it is not by intention. I know I would never try to offend anyone, if I have or someone has, please bring it to their attention and we can be at peace one with another. Fr. Bill
