Dear Fellow Parishioners, During the first two weeks of September, we collected money for Haiti earthquake relief. I mentioned that our money would be sent to Catholic Relief Services working in Haiti. However, since we have a twin parish in Les Cayes, we will be sending the over $4,000.00 we collected directly to St. Gerard’s parish to assist their parishioners with basic survival needs. This way, St. Gerard parishioners can request and get assistance from Fr. Elysee directly, rather than applying for aid with CRS. I wish to thank the people who have renewed their monthly pledges to St. Gerard’s and the new people who have also made a commitment to a monthly pledge to our sister parish. Faith Formation Classes and Sacramental programs are all in place. Now is the time to invite anyone who wishes to be come Catholic to step forward for RCIA. Anyone interested in knowing more about the RCIA process please call the parish office for more information and Deacon Tom Tierney will arrange a meeting with those interested. The sacraments of initiation Baptism, if not already baptized, confirmation and First Eucharist will be celebrated with our community at the Easter Vigil, April 16, 2022. Anyone couples who were married civilly and wish to receive the Sacrament of Marriage, (have their marriage blessed) can also call the office and I will be happy to assist them. These blessings can take place throughout the year. Consider inviting Christ into your relationship as a couple. Since Covid, it is a challenge for me to visit parishioners at Milford Hospital each Wednesday. If you or a family member are in the hospital and would like me to bring communion and receive the Sacrament of the Sick, please call the office to inform me of presence in the Hospital. As Catholics, we are a Sacramental people. I want to make sure all are aware of the availability of the Sacraments here at Sacred Heart. Fr. Bill
