“What a difference a day makes!” Well, these days we need up to the second information regarding our journey together, or apart by at least six feet during this pandemic. Little did we know Lent of 2020 would really be an invitation into solitude and an opportunity to “Be Open” to the many ways God is speaking to us and giving us the space to declutter our schedules so we can really pay attention.
As of this writing Bishop McManus has informed us “In corporation with Governor Baker’s announcement… all churches will suspend Public Masses until further notice.” I will live stream Mass on Sunday’s at 8:30 A.M. and continue the Lenten Homily series.
To get the most out of “online church” Be fully present as a family and don’t let digital distractions get in the way. Pray together as you would gather at church. Don’t be afraid to like, share and comment, and even submit questions you may have on what you are hearing. Most importantly, Worship and pray; don’t just watch Mass - celebrate just as if you were there. Feed your soul, not your body!
We will leave the church open each day for private prayer, come in light a candle, spend some quiet time, pray the stations, rosary; or simply just listen! The church is open each morning at 9 A.M. and is closed at 4:00 P.M.
In order to minimize risk to our parish staff, our church offices will be closed to the public. The staff will be available by phone and e-mail Monday-Thursday 9AM -4PM. If you must drop something off, just put it in the mailbox and we will check it periodically throughout the day.
A detailed statement regarding happenings in the parish at this time has been sent to all of you. I am sure things will continue to change, but this is where we are right now.
“What a difference a day makes!” But even though we are social distancing from each other for health purposes, let’s raise each other up in prayer, stay in touch through social media, and above all, stay healthy!
