Dear Fellow Parishioners, Throughout the summer months Rob Callahan, (finance) and Kevin Maldarelli (operations) and our staff have been doing the groundwork to address several major issues regarding our campus. I would like to bring two of them to your attention. In 2019, we stated investigating a Solar Panel project for the parish to assist in implementing Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si: on Care of our Common Home. After major persistence on our part, especially Kevin Maldarelli, we have a signed contract with NextGrid. Solar Panel carports will be installed over sections of our parking lot. This will produce electricity to the grid and provide income for our parish. The huge industrial heating fan in the sanctuary is a reminder to us all that the radiant heating system below the flooring has bit the dust. We have investigated all the heating options and will begin getting bids for the installation of ceiling heating vents on either side of the church. Believe me - we have examined all the options, and this is the only one that will work in our facility. Rob Callahan will be addressing you in the upcoming months about how we can pay for the heating system as we move forward. Again, our Pastoral Planning Team is the decision-making body for our community. I which to thank Bob Maconochie for his three years of service as an at-large member of the team, and Ben Catalogna, our youth representative finishing his one-year term. We welcome Benny Colella as our new at-large member beginning a three-year term, and John McShane again serving a one-year youth position. Thank you to both of them for their willingness to serve. There is still one high school youth position available. Our meetings are on the 4th Monday of each month at 7:00 P.M. Our next meeting will be Monday, September 25th at 7PM in the conference room in the parish center. All are invited to discuss the future of our parish. More information will be forthcoming. Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend, Fr. Bill
