We continue our Lenten journey, guided by the Holy Spirit. I am hoping that we are all sharpening our listening skills as we listen well to each other, so that we can listen well to the movement of the Holy Spirit. This is a season of prayer, fasting and acts of charity. I thank you all for your assistance to our brothers and sisters in Ukraine. This first week we received $2,410.00; we will continue to leave the rectangular basket in place this weekend for that purpose. Of course, if you write Ukraine on an envelope, we will make sure it is included in our tally.
This week you will find the insert for our Annual Partner’s in Charity appeal, describing the services and ministries that are provided through our generosity. Our parish goal remains the same as last year, $42,200.00. Many of you have already received a request for your donation. Next weekend, March 26th and 27th I will be showing the Campaign video and providing envelopes inviting everyone to assist us in achieving our goal. Parish viability is dependent on meeting our diocesan responsibilities, so I am hoping that younger families will begin to contribute to this essential appeal in support of the mission, education, charity, and ministry of our diocesan family.
There are lots of moving parts in being a parish. I am so fortunate to have so many of you involved in ministry. I am trying to keep everyone posted on what is happening. Our new boilers are up and running, the hydro coil in the parish center has been replace and properly vented; and work has begun on the plumbing in the sacristy and parish house. Yes, we are still moving forward with Solar panels. All this work is being overseen by our buildings and grounds team.
The men of “That Man is You” continue to gather on Zoom each Saturday morning at 7:30. If you are interested in joining, contact Ernie Chaplin at [email protected]. We have completed three of our six sessions of Caring for the inactive: Making God’s house a home. We have had many positive responses to the notes sent out to those people we haven’t seen in a while, including several returning to join us for worship. Several mentioned that they just needed a reminder to get back in the groove. I have heard a few stories of encounters through the wrist bands. Please share your stories with me.
Yes, the Holy Spirit is moving among us as we continue our Lenten journey. Make sure you too, are swept up by the wind of the Spirit.
