Have you marked your calendar for the Gala Celebration on May 4th, 2019? Now you can obtain can make your reservations for the dinner on our website. Don’t be left out! Our celebration is to recognize and celebrate our past, our present and our future as a Catholic Community of Sacred Heart. Where we are now has been made possible through all our work together in ministry and the generosity of all who assisted us in our Capital Campaign.
Our formal Capital Campaign has drawn to a close, yet we realize that as with any home, there is still work to be done to our campus at Sacred Heart. Items on our list include:
· Improvements to the glass hallway that connects the Church and the Fr. Reilly center including expanding the hallway, installing heating and ventilation systems, and the construction of a new entryway with a carport for the drop-off of parishioners in poor weather conditions.
· Making improvements to the restroom across from the sacristy to make it handicapped accessible
· Landscaping and parking lot improvement
In order to complete these additional items, I am happy to announce that we have established the Sacred Heart Endowment Fund. This would be a voluntary fund that would be reserved only for the improvement of our parish campus buildings and grounds. None of these funds would be used for normal repairs. There would be no committed pledge amount; however, you will continue to receive a monthly envelope for your voluntary contribution. You can also make your contribution through our on-line giving portal as either a monthly re-occurring gift or a one-time gift. It would also be appropriate to use this fund as a memorial fund for donations in the memory of a loved one. I would ask you to consider inviting family and friends of deceased family members to make contributions to our Endowment Fund. I wish to thank ahead of time those parishioners who have already indicated that they will transfer their contributions from the Capital Campaign and continue to donate to the Endowment Fund.
We are a vibrant community of faith, able to meet our ordinary expenses through everyone’s weekly/monthly contributions. We move beyond that through our efforts to keep our patrimony in tip-top shape for generations to come. Thank you all for being on the journey together.
