I have stated repeatedly that “faith is
caught not
taught!” That is why we are paying attention to Faith Formation in our parish as opposed to Religious Education. Keeping on top of the latest techniques in engaging our community in passing on the faith is a top priority here at Sacred Heart. With that goal in mind Pam Chaplin is participating in “Vibrant Faith Institute” and gaining the knowledge, skills, and practices we need as a Catholic Community to develop faith in the 21
st century.
Pam will be taking 30 weeks of courses on-line that will assist our Catholic Community in three major areas:
Reimagining Faith Formation for the 21st Century
Designing Faith Formation for the 21st Century
Leading Faith Formation in the 21st Century
Our faith formation needs to be life-long and involves our whole community, not just children. We will be using digital tools methods and resources in faith formation with all ages. Families and the home will become the center of faith formation. It will take our whole community working and walking together to pass on our faith in an intergeneration way.
During her studies Pam will be seeking your wisdom and input in evaluating what we are doing, designing and implementing new faith formation techniques that will enable us to move forward in the months and years ahead. She will be keeping us posted on progress as her course unfolds.

How pleased I am that Pam is taking on this challenging work and assisting us in moving forward in our efforts to grow as a Catholic Community of faith.
