We are all hearing about early voting. I can’t wait till the mid-term election results are in and my hope and prayer is that it will be good news. I decided to vote early and couldn’t believe the number of people at the town clerk’s office Friday. Several people said, “This is important, and I want to make sure my voice is heard loud and clear!” I was feeling the same way. Being heard is very important and I want to be heard.
This brings me to the subject of our Annual Stewardship commitment. Thank you to those who “voted early” and submitted your pledge of commitment of time, talent and treasure to our Catholic Community. It is very important that we hear from everyone! Your voice and vote of confidence in our faith community needs to be heard. We are on this journey together and taking the time to make your support known is crucial to the vibrancy of Sacred Heart.
The Stewardship Team has been making every effort to make the process as easy as possible, by adding on-line pledging. We are hoping to hear from each household. Next week, we will send out a pledge card to those from whom we have not heard. If you are unable to make a commitment in all three areas; do what you can. Take a tiny step forward in being a steward at Sacred Heart, you will be glad you did!
Many people have been putting lots of energy and effort in getting out the vote in these mid-term elections. Just as it is important to keep democracy alive, it is important to keep our Catholic Community alive. That only happens through the collective commitments we all make to Sacred Heart! Remember—as Steve Jobs says, “Great thing never happen by one person; they happen by a team of people”. Look at The Red Sox; what a strong team they are! We need to be “Red Sox” strong!
