Dear Fellow Parishioners, Happy Easter Season to you all! It was wonderful to have us together for the Holy Week Services; what a difference a year makes. We celebrated the “Pandemic Rite” but soon we may be able to celebrate the Roman Rite as we have in years past. Many are yearning to celebrate the Seder, Walk-the-Walk, share a simple meal together and gather around the Easter Fire on Holy Saturday. Someone asked if we would ever be able to share the chalice and the blood of Christ again? I have no idea!
I wish to thank all those who shared in ministry not just Holy Week but since the pandemic regulations have been put into place. We have been following the CDC and Diocesan Guidelines very carefully and have had not any issues. All of you attending services have been very respectful in keeping everyone safe when we gather. Thank you so much.
It is always a danger to mention names of people to thank for making sure all was ready, and people were safe, however I must say, Pam Chaplin and Tina Buckley made sure Holy Week was safe and prayerful for all who attended. Paula Cadoret did an excellent job with decorating for each of the services. Stephen Chaplin made sure our music really helped us pray twice! All the readers and ushers served so well during this pandemic year. A thank you to all for the wonderful pooling of gifts and talents.
Our prayers as a community are so important. I received two wonderful notes from parishioners who asked to be taken off the prayer list. Charles Lee was declared “Cancer Free” after three years of treatment, and he added, three years of prayers from The Catholic Community of Sacred Heart. Bill Johnson also wanted to have his name removed because he is now recovering and will be able to return to work in May. It is so important for us to support one another on our faith journey. Our prayers are heard! Again, if you need prayers from the community, do not hesitate to ask. Some people want private prayers for circumstances. Just let me know.
