There have been lots of positive feedback from those who attended the consecration of the church and altar and the gala. Msgr. Doran said, “I have been ordained 53 years and never attended a church consecration before, what a beautiful experience.” Many commented on how quickly the service passed, because there was so much beautiful ritual happening in the ceremony; so reverent and powerful. There was also feedback from people who didn’t attend; many were sorry that they didn’t take or make the time to be present. Some thought it would be too long, others thought they were not interested, and after they heard from everyone that did attend, they wish they took the opportunity.
Like many of life’s events they happen once in a life-time. Don’t let that happen again! You are all invited to attend Tom Tierney’s ordination to the Deaconate on Saturday June 1st 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Worcester. If you have never attended an ordination, please don’t miss out. It is a beautiful service; a powerful Catholic ritual. I know that it is graduation weekend with lots of parties going on. For those who are able, I strongly encourage you to come to the ordination.
For those of you who would like to attend the ordination and would like to carpool, need a ride or can offer rides, please contact the office and we’ll set you up with our super duper uber service!!! We want to celebrate Deacon Tom, who will be assigned here at Sacred Heart for ministry with our community.
On Sunday June 2nd at the 9:30 Mass, we are all invited for Deacon Tom’s Mass of Thanksgiving. He will be the homilist for the Mass. Following the Mass all are invited to the parish center for a reception of great food and drink prepared by members of the parish all organized by our Community Engagement team.
Yes, sacramental grace is certainly flowing during this Easter Season! We are so happy for Tom, his wife Debbie, and two daughters as we celebrate them and our parish family, and the gift of service Tom offers to the Church and the Catholic Community of Sacred Heart! This weekend we celebrate our graduating Seniors. May they move forward in their endeavors with our prayers and blessings as we celebrate their achievements in education.
