On September 18th, Cardinal Sean O’Malley addressed the attendees at the Celebration of Priesthood. He challenged the audience, “To build a Civilization of Love.” To this end, Mother Church moves to heal and grow through her support of her devoted sons in the Priesthood. This celebration far exceeded their goal of $2,500,000, approaching almost $3 Million to help support the Priesthood in the Archdiocese of Boston.
On October 24, the Diocese of Worcester will offer our 11th Annual Celebrate Priesthood. In Mother Church’s hope to support her sons focused on serving all through the sacraments, we are called not only to support her financially, but also to help Bishop McManus congratulate and celebrate the priesthood. I’ve been to several of the events, in Boston and Worcester. It’s a great time to meet people, support those who have selflessly devoted themselves to the love of Christ, with some great food and drink. This year’s event runs from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM with the Taste of the Diocese Gala at Saint Paul Diocesan Jr/ Sr High School at 144 Granite Street in Worcester. To be part of the celebration, you can jump on line at https://worcesterdiocese.org/celebrate-priesthood. A gift or pledge of $100 is most appreciated.
The Love of Christ flows through the hands of the Priests to each of us, in the Eucharist. God has come to humanity through the person of Christ Jesus. His devotion to us in the establishment of his sacraments is one of his many gifts to us. To Build a Civilization of Love, I most definitely need the Eucharist. If you or someone you love, hasn’t completed the sacraments of Initiation in their elementary school years, we will be hosting RCIA, now referred to as OCIA, this fall and winter. Please call the office to register for Baptism, Eucharis, and/or Confirmation. I look forward to helping us all build a Civilization of Love! Deacon Tom
