| Dear Catholic Community, What a wonderful turnout and response to the benefit concert for our neighbors, the Hukanovic Family featuring Bob O’Connell and the Narragansett Bay Chorus. There were people from throughout the area in attendance. How powerful is it when so many people from in and outside the parish gather. The Hopedale Unitarian Church provided the raffles, wine, cheese and soft drinks and our parish Hospitality Team did a wonderful job presenting everything in a truly classic style in the Fr. Reilley Center. It was wonderful that so many who attended the concert also attended the reception to meet and greet the members of the Hukanovic family and the members of the Chorus. Even extended family members of the Hukanovic clan prepared food for the event! Amini Hukanovic thanked everyone in attendance for their generosity and all the organizations that have given them assistance and housing as they strive to get back on their feet after the tragic fire. Amini especially thanked the Hopedale Fire Department for saving their home. Amini is the youngest member of the family and will be leaving for college in the Fall. On behalf of our whole parish a sincere and heartfelt thank you to Christine Gaffney, who called on her cousin Bob O’Connell and the Narragansett Bay Chorus to provide such a wonderful event. Thank you to all who attended the concert or made donations and those who provided tickets to the entire community. A check for $5,157.00 will be given to the Hukanovic family to assist them in getting back on their feet. Donations are still coming in and will continue to be accepted.
