What is the Mustard Seed?
The Mustard Seed (founded in 1972) is a community of faith, hope and love that has manifested as a living room, as a refuge for the hungry, lonely, and homeless and as an ideal (that in the ideal) is what a Christian community looks like or should look like in practice. A non-profit organization that serves the homeless and low income families and individuals in Worcester.
On the third Tuesday of each month, Sacred Heart Parishioners deliver and serve a dinner at the Mustard Seed.
We need everyone’s help to fulfill this ministry. We have created a sign up spreadsheet to make contributing simple. Our next trip to the Mustard Seed is August 15th. There are so many options:
Salads: Regular, Potato, Macaroni, Fruit….etc
Main Dishes: Roasted Chicken, Ham, Pasta, Shepard’s Pie, Meatballs, Roisterer Chicken, Sausage Peppers and Onion…..etc
Above are just ideas, you can make(or purchase) any meals you would like. The only necessity is that everything is fully cooked.
Drop off: Hall Kitchen, Monday September 18 9:30-4:30 or Tuesday September 19 9:30-3:30(if doesn’t need to be heated you can drop off as late as 4:30).
